25. Little Miss Sunshine
I’m not much of a cryer. Especially when it comes to movies; generally when others are reaching for the hankies, I’m noticing the camerawork or the costumes. But the climactic scene in “Little Miss Sunshine” – the one where the entire misfit family gets up and dances to “Super Freak” while a horrified pageant audience looks on gets me misty-eyed every time. It’s such a hilarious, touching, skewed picture of a family bonding together and taking care of one of their own. And it’s a middle finger to the child pageant industry to boot. How can you not tear up at a scene like that?
