Top Movies of the Decade #80

80.  Emperor’s New Groove

emperorsnewgroove“New Groove” started out as a big Disney project, then became a castoff, which maybe is what gave it the room to be as fresh and funny and original as it ended up — the script has “creative freedom” all over it and it was, and is, a refreshing respite from all the Big Disney Movies.

David Spade and John Goodman find amazing chemistry; their opposite styles blend perfectly together.   And Patrick Warburton, who is perhaps the most underrated comedic actor of the ’00s,  is memorable (and endlessly quotable) as Kronk.

This one has been a Krischke family favorite for years.

“A LLAMA??  He’s supposed to be dead!”
