Movies released on DVD this week –
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button – Big, empty, technically interesting, otherwise disappointing film about a guy who is born old and grows younger as he ages. Probably the most disappointing Oscar-nominated movie of the year.
Wendy and Lucy - Quiet and quirky indie flick about a woman at the end of her resources, trying to stay afloat.
Momma’s Man – see the review I posted yesterday (below.)
Just Another Love Story – The plot summary makes it sound like a Danish version of “While You Were Sleeping,” and yet it’s being described as a “Hitchcockian thriller.” I’m intrigued. Look for my review next week.
Last Chance Harvey – Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson offer us “Before Sunset” for the 50+ set. Who says you’re too old for intense and fleeting romance?
Chandni Chowk to China – Bollywood meets Kung Fu flick – full of singing, dancing, and kicking/punching. Sounds like fun, as long as you don’t take it too seriously.
